This set, made from square coins, feature detailed color scenes of four famous city sqaures – Trafalgar Square in London, St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, Tiananmen Square in Beijing, and and Red Square in Moscow.
Major buildings in the square depicted on the coins are left silver to provide focus and contrast to the scene. On the Red Square coin, the Spasskaya Tower entrance to the Kremlin is left silver, while St Basil’s Cathedral is colored. On the Tiananmen Square coin, the Tiananmen Gate tower on the north side of the square which leads to the Forbidden City is silver.
