India.com reports on an auto-rickshaw driver who literally stumbled upon 20 ancient coins dating back to the 14th Century on his way for some water. Bhupesh Jadhav drives tourists to the Shitladevi temple in his three-wheeled, six-person taxi. On his way to the water stand at the temple to buy a drink, he tripped over a large rock and came face-to-face with a glittering coin in the mud.

He began digging, and uncovered a hoard of twenty coins, which he handed over to temple officials. Jadhav said, “At first, I thought it was some buried treasure, like gold biscuits. But when I dug further, I found not one but 20 coins made of brass and gold bearing some figures and script.”

One resident said that back in 2004, government archaeologists had searched the same area where Jadhav found the coins, but came up empty-handed.
