Bullion Breakfast Looks At Buffalo Frenzy at ANA World Fair of Money

New Bullion Breakfast host Taryn Walker covers the buying frenzy over the 2013 Reverse Proof American Gold Buffalo at the ANA World Fair of Money in Chicago last month. This was the first opportunity to get one of this amazing coins, minted to celebrate the 100th anniversary of James Earle Fraser’s 1913 Buffalo Nickel.

Both PCGS and NGC had tables at the show for immediate grading and slabbing, with a special 2013 ANA Chicago label. Acting Director of the U.S. Mint Richard A. Peterson was on hand the first day to date and sign the COA of anyone who wished!

We have some of those special 2013 Gold Buffalo Reverse Proof coins with Director-signed COA graded a perfect PF 70 right now at Gainesville Coins! Not everyone who bought out the first day’s limit of 1000 coins had their COA signed by Director Peterson, so this is the rarest example of a rare coin!
